FAQ - SKY

 


Q. What are the methods of payment?

A. You can pay by direct debit, debit card, credit card or cash at any Paypoint outlet.

 

Q. What type of movies will you be showing?

A. We will be showing a variety of Comedy, Drama, Traditional, Romance and some Yoruba with English subtitles.

 

Q. Will they be current movies?

A. Yes there will be a selection of current and newly released movies.

 

Q. Will viewers in Europe be able to watch Nollywood Movies?

A. Only when it is free to air but once encrypted the signal will be blocked by Sky.

 

Q. What if I miss a film I want to watch?

A. If you miss a film, you will have a chance to view it again , as films are shown at different times in the month. Check full listings on the schedule page.

 

Q. Where can I watch Nollywood movies?

A. Nollywood Movies can be found on Sky channel 329.

 

Q. I want to advertise on Nollywood movies

Q. What are adverts rates?

A. We charge £25 for a 30 second advert and £35 for a 60 second advert . The minimum number of slots to book is 20 slots for the month. The adverts must be provided on DVcam or mini dv. Tapes must be received at least 3/4 days prior to broadcast and payments must be cleared funds prior to broadcast as well.


Q. Method of payment

A. Kindly note that if you choose to pay by cheque it may take longer to process your susbcription because your cheque will be subject to the banks clearing times.


Q. Why am I being asked for a PIN number at the begining of a movie ?

A. For any movie rated 12 and above you will be required to enter your SKY pin to view the movies this is to prevent younger children viewing unsuitable scenes. The pin you need is the last 4 digits of your sky viewing card number. If you have changed your PIN just enter your new pin as you would for any of your other sky subscription programs.


Q. I have asked to pay at paypoint and I was told to wait for a barcode. What is it?

A. If you have chosen to use a paypoint outlet you will need a barcode to take to the shop so they can process your payment. The barcode will be sent to you via email so that you can print it however you will require pdf on your computer in order to view and print your barcode properly. If you prefer that the barcode is posted to you this can be done but note that postal times will apply.


Q. I have sky multi-room can I receive Nollywood Movies on all my viewing cards ?

A. Yes you can receive Nollywood Movies on all your viewing cards but your £5.99 only covers 1 viewing card. There is an additional cost of £2.99 per month per additional card to be switched on.


Q. Do you pay for the rights for the movies you show?

A. Yes Nollywood Movies operates within the law and as such we pay for the rights to any movie we show


Q. Are my financial details secure on your website/payment site ?

A. Your details and financial information is secure on our website which has been designed with all the required safeguards to protect our customers and their data.

Q. Is this service available in my area?

A. This is a subscription only service available to viewers globally.

 

Q. What are the system requirements?

A. These are minimal technical requirements for using the service.

You need a broadband Internet connection (DSL/Cable or higher) of 500 kbps or higher to watch the Nollywood Movies channel on your PC.  Click here to check that your PC or Mac meets our a minimum set of requirements.  


Q. Do I need to schedule an appointment to start the service?

A. No, access is instant after confirmation of payment. All that is required is that you log into the website using your username and password.


Q. Do I need any additional equipment for my computer?

A. No, you do not need a TV card, antenna or any additional equipment.


Q. Can I share my account with others?

A. No, you cannot use your subscription to watch the Nollywood Movies from more than one computer at the same time.  

 

Q. Is the service compatible with my wireless router?

A. Yes, it is compatible with any Internet connection, directly or through a router.

 

Q. What kind of quality should I expect?

A. We do not host, decode or modify the video stream, but only broadcast (stream) the channel over the Internet. The quality of the video streams is dictated by the broadcaster (Nollywood Movies). The resolution depends on its original format.

 

Q. Why are my videos taking so long to start and/or very choppy?

A. This is most likely due to low Internet bandwidth. It is required that you have either a cable or DSL Internet connection providing at least 750 kbps download speed. Make sure that you are not downloading music, movies, or games at the same time as this consumes your bandwidth. Note that if you are on a shared network, other people may be consuming your bandwidth. You can check your Internet connection using the free service from: http://www.speedtest.net.  Contact your Internet Service provider if you suspect you are getting less Internet bandwidth than you should.

 

Q. Why is my video not playing?

A. Make sure you have pressed the play-button for your video and wait a minute or two. If you still cannot play the video, then your issue may be due to the following:



 

Q. Is my registration secure and confidential?

A. Our payment process is secured through the approved pages and procedures set up by Paypal.  As such, you can be confident that the payment process is well-secured.


Your account information is also hosted in a username/password-protected area.
